Having A Dead Opt In List Is Bad For Business….

Posted on March 25, 2007. Filed under: Opt in email marketing |

What’s wrong with your opt in list?

You’ve sent them offer after offer and no one has responded.

How come?

One of the reasons might be because you have the wrong target audience.

The product that you offer should be the perfect match for the problem your opt in list subscribers are looking to solve.

When they read the description of what problem your product solves…a light should be going off inside their head.

They should be saying, “that’s it…thats exactly what I’m looking for.”

However…too many people build their list and think that just because they have a group of names that they can market to that they will buy anything.

That’s the furthest thing from the truth.

Having a opt in email list doesn’t gurantee you any type of sales.

You create the right atmosphere that can produce a sale by delivering useful content.

Thus, over time you establish trust and only then can the sale be made.

That’s all for now.

Hey Keir,

You are right on with this one. Why would anyone want to promote to a list that isn’t interested. It is a total waste of time and resources. The phrase “trying to sell a snowball to an Eskimo” comes to mind, he just isn’t interested and doesnt need it. Keep your target market and list focused on the same thing and everyone will be much happier.

Great point on this one!
